The Council’s main contractor will be undertaking stump grinding to remove
remaining tree stumps and make the affected areas safe and suitable for future use. The
stumps will be below ground level and backfilled using the arisings.
When and where
 Welfare facilities are planned to be set up in the car park from 8 May
 Works are currently anticipated to start from 11 May and are expected to take
approximately two weeks
 Works will include the access road to the café and other agreed locations within the
park
What to expect
 Some localised noise and short-term disruption while grinding works take place
 Temporary exclusion zones will be put in place for safety
 Access routes within the park may be temporarily adjusted but will be managed to
minimise disruption
All works will only commence once risk assessments and method statements have been
reviewed and accepted, and once internal teams, ward members, and the local community
have been informed.
