Sunday 26 May saw the 20th anniversary Health Walk take place, led as normal by Jean Byrne and Janice Rendel. The large group of walkers enjoyed the walk through the Park, remarkably, in dry weather. Arriving at the usual destination, in one of the bowling shelters, the walkers enjoyed some special refreshments, including fruit kebabs and a celebratory birthday cake – featuring a photo of the very first Health Walk in 2004. At the end, Andy Simpkins gave a vote of thanks to Jean for the fantastic job she has done since 2004, organising the walks and looking after the participants.
