Volunteers Needed (this Saturday) – 150 Tree New Saplings!

MarkDisc Golf

Would you like to get involved in making Longford Park an ever better place to enjoy?

Why not lend a hand and pop down any time this Saturday.

Manchester Disc Golf are asking if anyone could spare even an hour or two, to drop down to the course to assist with some much needed maintenance inside the disk course area and to help plant a further 150 new sapling trees. They’ll be there from 9:30am – 8:00pm! Anyone that would like to help are welcome and would be greatly appreciated.

This first volunteer day of 2021 will be focusing mainly on addressing the damage to the course from a very busy and wet Winter. Improvements need to be completed around Hole 7, and “The Crossroads” area. The plan is to also create a wildflower meadow area to help feed the bees! Approximately 150 new tree saplings arrived this week and urgently need to be planted into the wetter parts around the course.

If you would like to get involved in any of these activities (and more) we’d love to see you there on the day.

The great thing about tree planting is that for years to come, you can go back to visit the saplings that you planted and see how they’re progressing.
