A GUIDE TO THREE SHORT CIRCULAR WALKS
IN TRAFFORD’S LARGEST PARK
Longford Park Walks

The walks are just over a mile long and are on footpaths accessible to all including wheelchair users and pushchairs. They can be accessed from the Park Information Maps located near the Edge Lane (Yellow Route), Firswood Quadrant (Blue Route) and Ryebank Road (Purple Route) entrances. Start from the Maps and follow the coloured route markers.

The walks can be done at any time. Alternatively if you would like the opportunity to meet others there are Walking and Friendship Meeting Points at the Maps. These list 3 times each day when walks start 10.30am, 1pm and 3pm. People who would like company should arrive at the meeting points at the specified times and may then meet up with others on the same path. Friends of Longford Park volunteers will be accompanying walkers on the 10:30am walk starting from the Edge Lane gate on the last Sunday of every month. Additionally, if you would like to be accompanied by a walk buddy, please contact us by clicking on the button below to discuss this.

For more information and map, you can pick up a free copy of the Longford Park Walks brochure at the Longford Park Cafe (if in stock).

On Sunday 31st July a health walk was held to celebrate the installation of three new way marked one mile walk routes in the park. The three circular routes start from Walking and Friendship Trail signs located near to the Edge Lane, Firswood and Ryebank Road park entrances. The initiative, partly funded by a grant from Trafford Council’s Inclusive Neighbourhood Fund is aimed at making the park more accessible to all sections of society and encouraging people to walk at least a mile a day in green surroundings.
