We are a sub-group of Friends of Longford Park, run by a small Steering Group who do all the planning and organising.
A member of the Steering Group is present at every session, which we hope to cover, if possible, over the whole summer.
We grow as organically as we can and started in 2010 by using the original flowerbeds for growing vegetables. We have developed a fruit garden with espaliered fruit trees and fruit cages, a small orchard and a herb wheel. We have also installed 2 large greenhouses for protected cultivation, as well as a beehive run by Three Bees Co-operative – and we have lots of ideas for the future!
We are always keen to have new volunteers who don’t necessarily have to commit to regular times or days, but can drop in to help, whenever it suits. We welcome those without any experience as well as those with some gardening experience. We are all learning and sharing together.
We are now open on Thursday evenings – so so come pop in to join us whenever you can
