Walking can make a difference. It can be fun, a chance to talk and can help keep you fit. Research has shown that walking in green surroundings can promote a drop in blood pressure and reduce feelings of stress. The walks are especially suitable for people who do not take regular exercise and who might feel unable to access their local green space.

The October health walk took place shortly after heavy rains had flooded parts of Longford Park. The Autumnal colours and the sudden appearance of a lake in the south of the park made for an interesting experience!

15 people braved the rain for an enjoyable stroll through the park on the 27th April Health Walk.
They were rewarded for their efforts with fine views of the park in bloom. Spring seems finally to have arrived and areas of the park such as the oriental gardens are looking particularly attractive just now.
Tea, Coffee and biscuits were available at the end of the walk. Thanks to Jean for organizing this event.
